Police in Washington, D.C. have arrested a woman who allegedly stabbed two men with scissors in Dupont Circle on Friday night.
The woman, identified as 35-year-old Mary Nelson Kennedy, is charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.
According to police, the first attack happened around 7:30 p.m. on Friday. A man was walking in the 2100 block of P Street when he was stabbed in the back of the neck. The man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A short time later, Kennedy allegedly attacked another man who was sitting at a bus stop. This man was also stabbed in the neck, but his injuries were also non-life-threatening.
A witness told police that both attacks were unprovoked.
Kennedy was arrested after a Secret Service officer tased her and took her into custody. A bloody pair of scissors was found in her purse.
Kennedy is being held without bond.
The motive for the attacks is unclear. Police are still investigating.
